Choose Your Words Carefully 

Feeble-minded, imbecile, idiot, moron - all used professionally in the last century to describe intelligence within specific IQ ranges. Thankfully we've matured in our use of language and grown in our acceptance of diversity and need. We've moved from 'backward', 'retarded' and 'remedial' to 'Special Educational Needs'. But is it time for even this respectful description to be questioned and replaced? Is 'SEN' a valuable signal for additional intervention? or is it a limiting tag that blinkers us to the full and broad potential within each child?
