"As a primary teacher I found this book really interesting with lots of good ideas to use in the classroom. The book begins by giving a clear definition of the skills of thinking and learning. Each subsequent chapter provides stimulating activities coupled with clear learning objectives, step by step instructions and assessment criteria. The activities are differentiated to ensure all ability levels within a classroom are well catered for. The tasks are designed to encourage the development of thinking skills across a wide range of curriculum areas. Each chapter also provides interesting and stimulating resources for use with the activities. I am looking forward to using many of these activities with my P6 class in the new term. "

"Another wonderful book in a superbly presented series of books for primary teachers; Creative Activities for Thinking and Learning Skills (ages 7-11) is one of those 'Wow!' books that will help develop and refine your pupils' thinking skills. In addition, it's full colour, with glossy pages, photos to help you with presentation ideas in your classroom and the handouts needed for lessons. A sheer delight, from highly experienced teachers/consultants. Even better, it brings classroom activities into the real world, so pupils of all ability levels will be fully engaged. There are lots of web links to use during the lessons/sets of lessons. I've used 'The creativity contraption' as a thinking tool that integrates into other lessons. 'Oh Dear! What Can the Matter Be?' is a fascinating Maths lesson. Get this book, it's fab! PS: Keep it hidden away, or it may 'walk' to another class in your school!"
