Muscling in between Summer and Autumn is Britain’s fifth season – X Factor. A mammoth bite of learning to be had by all thinking educators – motivation, esteem, drive, vision, engagement with success, passion, growth, emotional intelligence – all raw and on show for public study.
I’m struck this year by the contestants’ pure focus - “this is it, at 34 this is my last chance”, “if I don’t get through I don’t know what I’m going to do” “I’ll never get another chance after this”
Such dedication is awesome and admirable. Such dedication is dangerous if the dream shatters. Such dedication is human and real.
PS – old fashioned 42 year old I am, but in last night’s cull I only noticed one of the final 24 thank the judges (Green Mohican). 23 acts were totally (and understandably) self-focussed. What made GM thank first and celebrate second……?
