This morning I've had two diverse experiences of live video:
1. A demo and short training session from Stephen at IrisConnect on using the Live View system. This is a very effective, flexible and teacher-respecting CPD tool. Professionals can decide how they use it: self video and analysis, colleague analysis, remote coaching, retrospective text/audio/video comments AND "delete file if I'm not happy with it". I can't wait to get started with this system; tools I've only dreamed of, quality teaching development in the hands of quality teachers.
And
2. Michael Gove live from of the HOC Education Committee. Perceptive questions, rigorous answers, same old same old. A showcase, a performance - a necessary one - but a showcase still. As I type, the question is about CPD and how teachers leave due to low quality training. "Teachers learn from the leaders of their profession who welcome observation...it's collaborative..."
I'm wondering which was the best use of my 40G download limit, currently nudging 32 with a day to go this month.
