16 Y9s at Honywood Science College in Coggeshall. Full day. How do we learn? This bunch excelled:
1. They knew themselves very well
2. They could work in small groups
3. They came into their own as a large group, solving problems
4. They found hidden leadership skills
I step back. X steps forward, “Does anyone have any ideas?” Y: “Put up your hand if you do”. Z organises everyone and makes sure they are ready for the task. The task is a success.
It’s a pleasure to see hidden talents come to light. Over the weeks these young adults will thrive. The only challenge they seemed to face was the smallest but most cunning of human demons: simply believing in themselves. I did. They will.
