Like most folks who use this website, my life is founded in the work of nurturing young minds & building up young people for success. It's what we've chosen to do; it's why we get up each day; it's our vocation. From this perspective I'm arguing that it's totally impossible to reduce child benefit - that being the benefit that children bring us. Here's a list:
Children see the world in creative, unburdened ways
Children are honest - their simple judgements easily cut through adult complexity
Children make adults smile and laugh
Children challenge adults - keep us on our toes
Children solve problems and create possibilites
Children keep us young...
...and in the words of Paulo Coelho, "A child can always teach an adult 3 things: to be happy for no reason, to always be busy with something and to demand with all his heart that which he desires."
Now then, on to married couples allowance....
